Group of fundraisers gathered outside Hope House Children's Hospice

On Saturday 26th August, the GM Fundraising Paddle2Pedal team arrived at Hope House Children’s Hospices to complete their challenge, which saw them canoe 100 miles, abseil 150ft, cycle 120 miles and raise over £90,000 for the hospices so far.

Profix Group MD Alan Sadler supported the team and comments: “What an event! This was the first all-female challenge GM Fundraising has ever organised and the 12-strong team certainly gave the boys a run for their money, myself included. Having been involved with these events for the past 12 years, you develop certain expectations of an inaugural event but the girls smashed it in every way. Each and every one worked really hard but also enjoyed themselves, which is key to such an event. They demonstrated a strong team ethic, supporting each other at every step and particularly when the going got tough. The abseil was the hardest part and evoked a lot of mixed emotions but they all completed it, before getting on their bikes and finishing the challenge.

“Their fundraising efforts should also be admired. To surpass £90,000 is a phenomenal result and the most ever raised from an inaugural GM Fundraising event, but the girls are pushing for £100,000. If anyone hasn’t supported them yet, I urge you to do so, as this is a very worthy team taking part in a challenge for a very worthy cause and every little helps.

“I am really proud of the whole team; it was an honour and a pleasure to support them. Paddle2Pedal will definitely be back.”
