Saving the world from our over-consumption of energy, excessive use of fossil fuels, unfathomable amounts of plastic waste, (the list goes on) should be our top priority as the human race. We need to take steps to revive our degenerating planet and all of it’s inhabitants, but it can be difficult as an individual to know how to help.

The Profix Group (Swing and Slide’s parent company) on the other hand have had an environmental policy set out for years now to ensure our work is as eco-friendly as possible.

 

Recycling All of Our Patio Door and Window Materials

 

• As a forward-thinking company, we make sure that we recycle all of the materials that we operate with during production and installation of our patio doors and other products.
• All of our raw materials are computer optimised to reduce waste from entry, to production, to collection of scrap PVC-U.
• We recycle all of our old windows and doors at the Profix factory.
• The handles and sent off for metal re-processing, the glass is recycled and the old timber windows and door frames are taken to our local wood shredder in Birmingham.
• The chipped wood is then used in demolition timber and pallets – what comes around goes around – that’s recycling for you!

Operating within International Standards for Environmental Impact

The Profix Group operate within the approved regulations by the International Standard ISO 14001.

This sets out requirements for an Environmental Management System (EMS) to be in place, which measures and documents our environmental impact.

Fortunately, Swing and Slide doors block 79 per cent of UV energy which prevents the fading of carpets, curtains and upholstery.

This minimises the fading of materials by 41 per cent, meaning you won’t feel obliged to rid of your furniture or flooring or other home textiles before truly necessary, thus helping to save our beautiful planet that little bit more.
