To fulfil the objective for our client, converting her old Victorian terrace property we would have to make some structural improvements.
It was important that we employed a structural engineer to calculate the steel beam and brickwork pier requirement for this type of project, then it is now a regulation requirement that the steel company provide a CE marked steel beam based on the report of the structural engineer.
Documents formed during this process are retained by the homeowner to meet with compliance.
Results:
In the end we removed the existing wall at the rear of the property, providing adequate support using steel beams before installation.
Mrs Hanlahan had full piece of mind during the process as we handled the project from start to finish and the conversion was done correctly.
