Group of GM fundraisers Paddle2Pedal team pose for picture in canoes

The GM Fundraising Paddle2Pedal team are part way through their challenge, having completed the “paddle” section which saw them canoe 100 miles down the River Wye from Glasbury to Chepstow. As if they haven’t done enough, the team did an abseil down the rock face of Symonds Yat yesterday afternoon.

Alan Sadler, Profix Group’s MD is supporting the challenge. “It has been an absolute honour supporting this team of ladies take part in this truly tough challenge,” says Alan. “It has been a pleasure to see the team growing together and supporting each other 100%. Even though there have been some tough days on the river they have never lost sight of the reason why they are doing this challenge – to raise money for the children, young people and their families affected by life limiting illness under the care of Hope House Children’s Hospices.

“I’ve been involved with GM Fundraising for 12 years now and it’s in the 18th year of supporting Hope House. Having taken part in 4 of these epic challenges myself, I know how hard the team are working and what it takes to get up and carry on every day. Few of them have ever done anything like this before, but they are taking each day in their stride and doing a fantastic job. I am really proud to be supporting this team.”

“Today the girls will be taking to their bikes to complete the last part of the challenge – 120 miles of “pedalling” through the welsh borders from Monmouth to Oswestry, with an overnight stay in Llandrindod Wells. On Saturday afternoon, the team will arrive at the Hope House hospice to be greeted by friends and family, as well as the children and team they’re raising money for.

“The amount of support they have received has made such a difference to the team moral. We are aiming to raise £100,000 so if you can spare even a small amount to show support for the girls please visit: https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/GMFP2P

“You can also follow their progress on social media using #GMFP2P or #Paddle2Pedal – you will also see some great video footage taken by yours truly!
“Thank you for your support”
